| Description and Goals of Course: |
The International Center for Limb Lengthening specializes in complex tertiary limb reconstruction problems in children and adults. Patients come from across the U.S. and typically have challenging problems secondary to either birth defects or trauma.
We use a wide variety of techniques including external and internal fixation. The student will participate in clinical evaluations and surgical procedures, working directly with Dr. Herzenberg. Students also interact with fellows and have graduated responsibility.
The student is expected to attend teaching rounds and conferences. |

Prerequisites include a medical school cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, a USMLE Step 1 Score of 85 or a COMLEX score 80 or better of and completion of a Basic Surgery Clerkship. Research opportunities are available. |
