Keeping an elderly loved one at home for as long as possible is a goal many of us share. Levindale Adult Day Services strives to be an extension of your home environment, offering caring, personalized care for your loved one so that you, the primary caregiver, receive some much needed time to work or run errands.
Our Adult Day Services are designed especially for physically frail individuals with special medical needs such as diabetes, hypertension, post-stroke disabilities, dementia, confusion and Alzheimer's disease. We provide to you, the caregivers:
- A respite from 24-hour responsibility
- An alternative to expensive, private in-home care
- The ability to keep your loved one at home longer
- Assurance your loved one is receiving the nursing, medical and social care they need.
An Individualized Care Plan
Our participants benefit from access to medical support from across the LifeBridge Health network, which encompasses Sinai and Northwest hospitals to make one of the largest health care providers in the region.
Participants each have a comprehensive, coordinated treatment plan, developed in consultation with their private doctors. Nursing services, medical supervision, rehabilitation services and social services are all coordinated, and special care is available for both physically handicapped and mentally impaired clients.
Professional nursing is a strong component of this program. Vital signs like blood pressure are monitored consistently, treatments are performed and other nursing services are available. Personal assistance, including bathing and toileting, is provided to participants as needed. Rehabilitation services from Levindale’s rehabilitation department are also offered on site.
Additionally, Levindale’s Adult Day Services staff can schedule and provide transportation to physician and other therapeutic appointments.
A Full Recreation Program
We believe a stimulating and fun-filled environment provides the best quality of life for our participants. Our well-trained activity specialists lead dynamic programs that are suited to each participant’s special interests and designed to provide socialization and encourage friendships.
Activities include arts and crafts, intergenerational programs, music, cooking classes, exercise sessions, movies, discussion groups, live entertainment and trips into the community.
Kosher Meals Served
A highlight of the day is mealtime. Nutritious, delicious kosher meals — specifically a light breakfast, hot lunch and afternoon snack — are served daily. Holidays are always especially festive occasions at Levindale Adult Day Services and our celebration includes a special meal.
Assistance with feeding is provided as needed, and special dietary requirements can be accommodated.
Levindale provides transportation services to and from its two centers in specially equipped vans for the handicapped. These vans also take clients on field trips into the community.
